Primary objectives
Sony Music appointed Koko to produce a viral advergame to promote the brand new parody album from Chris Moyles.
The primary objective for this campaign was to increase awareness surrounding the launch of Chris’s new album and to encourage users to purchase it online. Exposing people to track samples from the new CD was a crucial aspect to this campaign and players are given snippets from each of the tracks on the album throughout the campaign.
We wanted to give players an exciting gaming experience when playing, as well as creating a game that would encourage a viral spread. Level select, star ratings and a world ranking systems were all included to encourage the social aspect.
Campaign overview
Parody Island is the brand new action platformer from Koko, featuring the one and only Chris Moyles!
Players take on the role of Chris and must guide him through 15 challenging levels to collect the notes which make up his album tracks. All is not as it seems though, Parody Island is full of pests including killer rabbits and nagging girlfriends that need to be avoided at all costs.
Featuring audio commentary from Mr Moyles himself, Parody Island is a real test of skill and one that will keep you hooked for ages. The star rating allows you to improve on your score for each level and the world ranking system allows you to compete to become the best player in the world.
The game also allows you to listen to real track samples from Chris’s new album as well as giving players the chance to win a Sony PSP with signed copies of the album!
